See a website’s real structure

Enter a URL and SarvCrawl crawls it, then draws the tree: every page nested under the page that first linked to it, with how deep it sits and how many links point around it.

The tree your site’s links actually make

A sitemap lists pages. A crawl tree shows how a visitor, or a search engine, gets to them.

Real link paths

Built from a real crawl, not from URL folders, so it shows how pages are reached.

Depth at a glance

Pages buried four or five clicks deep are easy to spot, and hard for crawlers to find.

Link counts

How many links were followed, how many pointed at pages already in the tree, and how many left the site.

The console’s tree

The same algorithm that draws every crawl job’s tree in the SarvCrawl console.

Export as JSON

Sign in free to download the nodes with depth, parent and child counts.

Then crawl it all

The preview crawls 20 pages; an account crawls the whole site into search.

How the website tree is built

  1. 01 / 03

    We crawl

A small real crawl collects each page’s outgoing links, starting at your URL.

  2. 02 / 03

    Each page gets one parent

The first crawled page that links to it, in discovery order: a breadth-first spanning tree.

  3. 03 / 03

    The rest is counted

Extra internal links are counted as duplicates, outside links as external, rather than drawn.

Get the tree of any crawl

Every crawl job has a tree endpoint, so you can chart a full site, not just the preview.

curl -X POST https://crawl.sarv.com/api/jobs/crawl \
  -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"kb_id":"kb_abc123","url":"https://example.com","limit":500}'

# when the crawl completes
curl https://crawl.sarv.com/api/jobs/JOB_ID/tree -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY"

Questions

What is a website tree?

A view of a site as a hierarchy: the home page at the top and every other page under the page that links to it. It shows how deep pages sit and which sections hold the most.

Why is a page not under the folder I expected?

The tree follows links, not URLs. If /docs/api is first linked from the home page, it sits under the home page, which is how a crawler reaches it.

How many pages does the free tree cover?

The preview crawls the first 20 pages. Signed in, it crawls 100, and a crawl job in the console covers the whole site.

Why does it take longer than the other tools?

It runs a real crawl to read each page’s links, which takes from a few seconds to about a minute.
